Indexable Toolholders
A holder is a tool for cutting by attaching a chip. Cutting is performed by fixing a suitable cutting edge (tip) such as triangle, rhombus, square, etc. to the holder body. The method of fixing the tip is mainly screw-on type, and there are also clamp-on type and pin lock type depending on the manufacturer. The advantage of using a holder is that it eliminates the need to grind the cutting edge. It is also possible to use multiple inserts with a single holder body.
